Realizó investigación en las ramas de robótica para rescate y exploración en el espacio en el Space Robotics Lab de la Universidad de Tohoku, Japón. Investigador Principal del desarrollo de Quince (Primer Robot Japonés para Rescate utilizado en el reactor nuclear de Fukushima). Actualmente desarrolla un framework para simulación de robótica con V-REP con Coppelia Robotics.

Assistive Robotics

In this 45 min long presentation I will describe which research themes are developed in my laboratory at UNICAMP. The two main topics are:
Development of a low cost smart hand prosthetic with novel type of Human-Prosthetic Interaction
Development of a robotized wheelchair solution in a smart environment, its actuation with novel human machine interfaces, and control strategies.

Hands-On Assistive Robotics

In this tutorial, after a brief presentation of V-REP software, the audience will learn how to build a wheelchair simulator. They will model a very simple wheelchair and 3D environment.

Eli Hughes

Descripción: Eli Hughes is the VP of Research And Development at TZERO Labs. He also teaches Electrical Engineering at Penn State University. Eli holds degrees Electrical Engineering Technology (BS) and Acoustics(MS). His interests include things relating to embedded systems, acoustics, sensors, embedded firmware, FPGA design, high-speed PCB design, power electronics, systems engineering and DSP. In addition to his professional work, he frequently presents projects at Maker Faire and is generally building something cool in his spare time.

Keynote - How to become an Embedded Systems Researcher?

Working in Embedded Systems requires a diverse skillset. It can be challenging as it involves mastering many disciplines including electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering and physics. Eli will share is experiences in how he became involved in embedded systems and what he has learned along the way.

Getting Started with LPC54608

The LPC54600 is a new ARM Cortex M4 based microcontroller family from NXP. In this session, we will introduce the microprocessor, the M4 Architecture and the development toolset. Students will get started with loading programs on a LPC54628Xpresso development board.

Workshop with LPC54608 – Part 1 & Part 2

In these workshops, we will explore some of the features of the LPC54608. The LPC54608Xpresso has many cool features such as a 480x272 LCD Touchscreen, a digital microphone and an audio CODEC. You will be provided with several example projects and we will have time to experiment with the features. Students should bring headphones and an 3.5mm audio patch cable to connect their phone if they want to experiment with the CODEC.
